Vintage oval portrait in a beautiful gilded wood frame of Sir Alexander Gibson, Lord Durie I of Scotland. He lived circa 1570–1644, and was a Scottish judge and legal author, known to have ruled on many of the earliest digested decisions in Scottish law. Painter unknown.
